Family party

Chris's Aunt hosted a party at her condo in Arlington for her cousins that were visiting from Ireland.  From the rooftop room you could see the Boston skyline.  The party was fun and I got to meet all of Chris's mother's cousins for the first time!  I can't believe I've been in the family for over 10 years and I'd never met them.  They were so nice and friendly and even helped Chris and I keep the kids out of places they shouldn't be (like the kitchen cabinets).

Pictures and updates

Sick babies are so sad :-(  Her favorite bear helped her feel better

This was the second day of fever for Madison and she conked out on Uncle Mike

On Monday we took care of baby Alice so her mommy Melanie could go to work.  She usually goes to her grandparents' house but they weren't around that day so I gladly accepted the request.  She slept 3 of the 5 hours she was here!!  When she was up M&J were very interested in her.  I had to keep her away from Jackson though because of his love to swat at things and people and animals.

In preparation for Alice I got down the bumbo seat and a bouncy seat from the attic.  Look who has rediscovered their love of them...

I hate this sippy cup.  The tip fills with liquid then when they drop it on the floor a small amount of liquid pours out of the tip.  If you flick the tip it sprays up in the air.  I clicked at just the right moment!

They get in and out of these seats all by themselves!

Fevers

Last week was pretty rough.  Jackson started with a fever Tuesday night.  By Wednesday morning he was burning up.  He was a lump all day.  He even fell asleep on me which was heaven (for me).  Wednesday night he had gotten better but Madison started to feel hot.  Thursday morning Jackson was bouncing around and Madison was a lump.  She was hot all day Thursday and Friday.  By Friday evening she was fine.
I felt so bad for the well one while I had to hold the sick one all day.  Not much else got done around the house but I did manage to bring my car to the mechanic to check out a coolant leak, get an oil change and get my AC charged.  $125 for the oil and AC and I need a new radiator.  Estimate of $400.  This in the car with a new $6500 engine.  We might as well just replace the transmition while we're at it because that's sure to go next month.

Tomorrow I am going to be taking care of baby Alice.  I can't wait to have a wee baby all to myself!!  I have a feeling M&J aren't going to like me giving her attention.

Auntie Kristen came over the other day to finalize her wedding invitation ideas.  Madison was playing with this ribbon so Kristen put it in Maddie's hair.  She was so proud of herself!  (Maddie, not Kristen although Kristen's ribbon tying skills are really something to aspire to)

Another day this week we went to Salem Willows with my Aunt Judy and her grandkids.  It's got some arcades and rides and it's all on the water.  There's even a little beach.  It was so hot so we wanted the kids to get their feet wet but M&J were not having it.  They were miserable!

This was another day of playing with that ribbon.
