Look what this camera can do!

For those of you who are interested I got a Canon Rebel XT with a stock lens for now (which is capable enough to take the image above).  I decided on the cheaper XT over the newer more expensive XTi so that I could spend more money on a great lens.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  I should be deciding on one in the next month.

I say buy the 50mm 1.8 lens for less than $100.00 You will love it. Of course, if you want to go into the $300 range, I LOVE the 85mm 1.8 and the 50mm 1.4.

Oooh! I am oh so envious.

I have been drooling over the Nikon D80 for AGES. Soon I'll get it. Soon.

Anyway...congrats on your new toy!

Can't wait to see what else it can do.

Agree with the pp. The 50mm f1.8 is a GREAT lens for CHEAP. I have the 50mm f1.4 and LOVE it. I also can't recommend enough the Tamron 17-50 f2.8. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this lens. Super fast, great for low light indoors, great indoor range etc. For outdoors (zoos, parks, and such) I use Canon 28-135 with Image Stablizer.

Good luck! I love my XTi...it is my third baby. =)
