Outing with Grandma

I love this photo!  Jackson was sitting in my lap out on the front porch and I held the camera up and shot us from above.

All of these pictures are from Friday June 27th.  I was all excited because Fiesta was going on in Gloucester.  They have a carnival with all the fun food vendors.  So my mom met us at our house and we all drove up there with dreams of candy apples and fried dough.  We got up there and parked at Mike and Kristen's house since they just live a few blocks away from where the festivities were.  We got the kids out of the car, into the stroller and walked down.  As we approached the carnival around 10:30 am we realized that nothing was open yet.  We asked someone who was standing around what time things opened up and he said 5 pm!!  Our hopes were dashed.
So we walked back to the car, put the kids in and drove to Rockport.  We went right to a restaurant to eat lunch.  They were very well behaved and ate pretty well.  When I went to pick up Jackson to leave I realized he was soaked!  So we left and I changed  his diaper.  Since I'm the most on the ball mom ever there was no back up out fit for him.  So he had to ride around most of the day in just  his diaper.  It was horribly hot that day so he was actually the lucky one.  We walked out to the very end of Bear Skin Neck and let M&J out to run around a bit.  Everyone was commenting on how cute they were :-)  There was a very friendly cat walking around out there and Madison kept chasing her saying "KEY!!"  The kitty even rubbed up against Madison and she thought that was so funny!  The sky over land looked rather ominous and then it started raining on us.  There was just nowhere for us to go so we didn't bother scrambling.  We got drenched.  Then it stopped and the sun came out.  So we decided to get some ice cream on the way back to the car.  While we were in getting the ice cream it started to pour again this time with thunder and lightning.  There was an awning where we were so we were able to stay dry.  Once we were done we tried to wait it out a little while because it was raining so hard.  Madison started getting whiny so we made a run for it.  The rain actually hurt when it hit you!  We were all soaked to the bone by the time we got back to the car.  Then as soon as we got to the car the sun came out!

This picture was taken in between storms (Grandma bought him this T-shirt so he wasn't naked)
