Our office was holding a gingerbread house contest this week. The first prize was $500. Chris thought it was worth the effort to enter one. One night while I was at work he said he was going make one. When I got home at midnight he hadn't done anything. I helped him come up with an idea and made some paste with flour and water since he bought whipped icing in a container. You know the kind that doesn't harden. Yeah.
We started with a form but scaled it back
The chimney ended up looking really cute. That is until the weight of them all made them all slide down the side.
We didn't realize just how pathetic it was until everyone else brought in their creations.
Wait til you see this one...
There were lights inside the house that shone through the melted candy windows and lit up the lifesaver lights on the walkway.

Look at the window boxes!! Our friend that made this decorates cakes as a hobby so it's no surprise how amazing this was.
This was ours after sitting in the office for a day. The roof totally caved in. People were referring to it as the crack house. Sweet! I just hope people voted for us out of pure pity.

LOL. That's hilarious. People went all out, didn't they?
Kerry, that is hilarious. I have never tried to make a gingerbread house, so mine would be right next to yours. maybe next year will be different....:)
